CHEMSEX DRUG AND SEX ADDICTION
At CITA’s drug and sex addiction center, not only is sexual addiction treated, but we also carry out, through medical professionals and psychologists, drug and sex addiction treatment, or viagra.
It is common to find a conduct disorder in sex addicts that includes the use of drugs or stimulants such as Viagra. The use of cocaine while having sex is quite common in people who suffer from sex addiction.
This combination of addictions, sex addiction and drug addiction, is known as chemsex, which is the term used to refer to both addictions grouped together. It is quite common for a patient with sex addiction to end up drifting into chemsex.
SEX ADDICTION, SEXUAL ADDICTION, OR SEX DISORDER
Sex addiction is grouped with so-called behavioral addictions in which the individual inevitably finds himself with addictive behavior that he cannot avoid or cope with.
Depriving this activity leads the patient to develop unsustainable, anxious, and sometimes unbearable behaviors. Being addicted to sex has more and more presence for some people, so a suitable treatment is necessary.
Sex addiction and partner sex are really different when it comes to sex addicts. The first thing we do in front of a sex disorder is to take a sex addiction test.
Detecting whether a person is sexually ill or not is important in all cases. Sexually ill people require proportionate and tailored treatment.
The addiction to having sex is considered a disorder, which is defined as: “Unfailingly compulsive behavior; involuntary, irrepressible, repetitive and unthinking tendency, aimed at establishing a type of stereotypical sexual relationship from which an overwhelming feeling of dissatisfaction remains ”.
We observe how this type of addiction affects all spheres of personal life and is a source of displeasure at the moment in which the addict loses control of the situation following his fantasy, making the pleasure of the “normal” sexual relationship, becomes a cause of discomfort.
It is a compulsive behavior that aims to calm anxiety in the wrong way, through which unpleasantness and anxiety are generated from the one we had.
It is the moment in which the rejection of oneself is produced, noting that such behavior not only does not calm anxiety, but also creates a large number of problems.
It is common for sex addicts to have work, family, economic and social problems, since their sexual behavior forces them to frequently go to prostitutes, pornography, erotic lines or to have sex with strangers.
Even without protection, making his life revolve around sex, without feeling most of the time any kind of pleasure but feelings of guilt and suffering.
SEX AND COCAINE ADDICTION: SEXUAL STIMULANT?
Sex and cocaine is an explosive mixture that can increase bodily sensations in the short term, but if it is abused in the long term it can cause addiction to cocaine with its dangers, as well as erectile dysfunction and priapism or painful erection.
Studies have shown that cocaine in sex is a powerful local anesthetic, it reduces genital sensitivity. Although it is mistakenly believed to magnify sexual behaviors or to be a sexual stimulant, it does cause euphoria and social momentum in the short term.
This mixture of sex and cocaine and even sex, cocaine and viagra, can lead to a sexual disorder that can lead to a significant loss of sexual appetite.
According to a study by the American psychiatrist James Cocores published in 1988, 62% of men addicted to cocaine suffered from erectile dysfunction. Sixty percent of the crack smokers were anorgasmic and 72 percent of the men suffered from erectile dysfunction.
The addiction ‘sex-coca’ is becoming more frequent due to this “facilitating” effect of sexual relations.
I’M ADDICTED TO SEX, I NEED HELP
ADDICTION TO SEX AND AMPHETAMINES: SEXUAL EUPHORIA?
Addiction to sex and amphetamines, according to psychiatrists at the Center for Addiction Research and Treatment, is a problem caused by amphetamine itself during sexual intercourse, as it produces a physical reaction of great euphoria and influences orgasmic sensations and physical performance .
The problem is that the consumption of amphetamines during sex produces a rebound effect that prevents the erection of the male member for several hours after consumption. In addition, the risk of heart problems is increased in both sexes and they consume them.
The risk of using amphetamines and having sex, according to CITA psychologists, is that it will inevitably lead to addiction that will lead to long-term mental disorder.
ADDICTION TO VIAGRA
Addiction to viagra usually arises from an addiction to sex linked to a self-demand to satisfy women. Increasingly, a dangerous dependence on the viagra pill is detected in many young people.
Viagra addicts suffer from a sex-related disorder and a sexual disorder that leads to the abuse of substances such as viagra and even drug use to satisfy this need.
Viagra abuse has been shown to cause erectile dysfunction problems and is increasingly being detected in younger people as they expect much more from themselves. This leads them to suffer from a mental disorder that leads them to consume, and increasingly, to the point of addiction.
SEX ADDICTION TREATMENT
Compulsive sexual behavior has a psychological origin, where sexual fantasies, dreams and erotic thoughts become the escape valve from a series of problems that are transformed to give a sexual outlet: work, relationship, self-esteem, dissatisfaction problems personal or other life history conflicts.
The addict is forced, on many occasions, to keep the problem hidden, through a “double life”. Lies that are directed towards others but also towards oneself, in order to convince oneself that everything is under control, with the characteristic “it will be the last time”. People addicted to sex develop various strategies to deceive third parties and in particular their partners. They feel ashamed because they realize that they cannot stop their impulses and this produces high feelings of helplessness and suffering.
Data from the US National Council of Sexual Addiction (NCSA) tell us that: 40% of sex addicts lose their partner, another 40% suffer unwanted pregnancies, 72% have obsessive ideas about suicide, 17 % have tried to kill themselves, 36% have abortions, 27% have work problems and 68% are at risk of contracting AIDS or other sexually transmitted diseases.
TREATMENT WITH MULTIDISCIPLINARY PSYCHOLOGY
Sex addiction is a disorder with a good prognosis as long as a specialist is consulted and specific treatment is started.
Regardless of the cause, treating sex addiction is possible. Specialists seek, through psychotherapy, possible triggers of dependence and through cognitive-behavioral techniques, to treat the patient’s sexual behavior.
Our treatment emphasizes psychological and pharmacological care, depending on the duration, intensity and degree of distortion of reality caused by the symptoms. We know that the management of sex addiction is complex and requires professional intervention, like other addictions. For this, psychotherapeutic and educational strategies are brought together, especially individual therapy and other multidisciplinary interventions.
Prevention requires early learning to identify the circumstances that trigger it in order to develop the avoidance or elimination strategy.
ADDICT PROFILE AND RISK FACTORS
The profile of the sex addict usually presents two types of altered episodes: depression and sexuality are aspects that are altered in the face of this addiction.
Sex is fundamental in the human being, but when an obsession for sex appears that interferes in daily life, at work, in personal and social relationships, causing anxiety, stress and guilt, then it becomes a problem of consequences serious.
