PSYCHIATRIC DIRECTOR / ADDICTION SPECIALIST

Josep Mª Fabregas Pedrell began his professional career at the Marmottande Paris Hospital, where he worked with Professor Claude Olievenstein.

Later, he moved to New York and, after several years of professional experience, in 1981 he founded CITA (Center for Research and Treatment of Addictions) with the aim of developing a model of a professional therapeutic community, which has been in operation for 32 years.

Years later, he started CITA Clinic. CITA FUNDACIÓN Y CITA JOVES followed soon after that.

SUSANA FERRER

MANAGER

Susanna holds a Master’s in Accounting from the CENTER D’ESTUDIS PRAT and a Master’s in Business Administration and Accounting Administration from the EADA SCHOOL OF DIRECTION.

She has previously served as the Administration Manager at LABORATORIOS FARMACÉU-TICOS FARMASINES, Barcelona and as Financial advisor at GESTORÍA GOMBAU, Barcelona. Her other roles before CITA also include being a Manager at SOGEMO IBERICA, S.A., Barcelona and Human Resources Director at PANASONIC, Barcelona.

Susana Ferrer

SERGI VILARDELL

THERAPEUTIC DIRECTOR

Sergi is trained in social education and psychology and specialised in the psychoeducational treatment of addictions.

He comes to CITA after co-ordinating various educational projects with different groups at risk of social exclusion.

He started out professionally as a social educator in the field of mental health. For three years he worked in almost all of the residential, occupational and educational centers offering these services.

Sergi also co-ordinated a support organisation for relatives of the severely mentally ill. That is when he started working with individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder and their families.

Before coming to CITA, he worked for two years at a Residential Center for Educational Action (CRAE) and at a shelter for adolescents at risk of social exclusion. During this time, he became an expert in prevention of drug addiction.

He currently works at CITA as a therapeutic director.
